Norris Emeka Ekwerekwu — known worldwide as DJ MegaPrime and affectionately called “Koko” on the streets of Nigeria — stands today as one of Africa’s most versatile and in-demand disc jockeys. Born in Onitsha, Anambra State, and raised across Kaduna and Abuja, MegaPrime’s entry into the music world began while he worked in promotions for a top Abuja nightclub. Frustrated by DJs who restricted themselves to single genres, he recognized an opportunity: to fuse the world’s richest sounds into one unstoppable energy. In 2012, under his first moniker DJ Koko Testa, he transformed that vision into reality. Starting with free gigs and relentless grind, he quickly rose to become the resident DJ at Abuja’s legendary Grotto Fashion Club. This was followed by coveted roles at 09 Bikers Club, Empire (Abuja & Kaduna), Jodeci, and the prestigious PLAY Network, where in 2017, “Koko Testa” officially evolved into DJ MegaPrime. True to his philosophy of “More Music, Less Scratches,” MegaPrime is a genre-fluid, high-precision selector. Whether Afrobeats, Amapiano, Hip-Hop, House, Latin, or EDM, he blends global sounds into explosive, high-energy sets that keep dance floors alive for hours. After dominating the Nigerian scene, MegaPrime expanded across the continent and beyond, securing residencies at some of West Africa’s hottest venues, including The Bank, Trafic, The Pharmacy, Skinny, and Green Fever in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire. His journey has also taken him to elite clubs in Dakar, Senegal, and select cities across the United States.
